Sarah-Kay Pieterse

Ms. Pieterse has been living and teaching in the UAE for over five years. For the past two years she has been teaching at GIS. Having taught from ages 4 to 9, Ms. Pieterse has a clear understanding of the educational journey that children are faced with in their lifetime. Ms. Pieterse believes that a strong foundation is the basis of a successful educational journey. In the classroom, she is passionate about student agency and inquiry, developing creative, collaborative and open-minded students. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Pieterse enjoys staying active and spending time in nature, trail running in the mountains in the UAE. She finds it rejuvenating and relaxing to paint canvases and cards using oils and watercolors.
